2023 Alaska Trip Report 7

Leg #: 7 (Day 17-19)

Location: Park City, UT to Seattle

Mileage Driven leg/total: 1148 / 2528 miles [*we are picking up the pace for a few legs; otherwise we might never reach Alaska this summer]

Weather: 85 high / 45 low. Typical Seattle summer weather which is our favorite but we forgot about the humidity. No bugs either!

Tofu Status: ALL systems working. Oil change done enroute. Tofu is firing on all cylinders, knock on wood.

Highlights:
• Wildlife Sightings: lots of bunny rabbits🐇.
• We had a lovely hike and lunch with our awesome friend, Ky Calder. A shady hike on the Coal Creek trail followed by lunch in downtown Bellevue makes for a perfect day.
• Tony got a cycle in on Mercer Island, one of his favorite rides. The route was even better then he remembered and he had his 2nd fastest time out of 198 times riding this route since 2014. Not bad for 52 years old.
• Lots of reminiscing on this leg from our 6 years living in Seattle. Much was as we remembered except there is now so much road construction and building construction everywhere, especiallyon the Eastside. Also we forgot about the population density in this area of the country.
• We stayed at a lovely Hip Camp which was a Christmas Tree farm on the Woodinville-Redmond border. We could hear the music from their summer concert from Chateau St. Michelle from our site which was a (free) treat.
• A 2nd quick visit with Ky on our way out of town. Thanks for the hot shower and clean fluffy towels. You know the way to our ❤️.

Lowlights:
• We love Seattle so not many lowlights for this leg…the best I can come up with is the humidity, but maybe that is because we now live in the desert with single digit humidity?

Tiger (Provan) Sightings: Tony = 2, Tracey = 0

Next: Jasper National Park (Alberta, Canada)
